10 Pavilions to experience at Venice Architecture Biennale 2025

Everyone who has visited the Venice Biennale at least once knows: it’s an all-encompassing experience. Stimulating, intense, and at times even challenging. With so many pavilions, installations, and a packed calendar of events, it can be overwhelming to take it all in and find your bearings.

In this context, the quality of the visit depends not only on what is presented, but above all on how these contents are perceived and experienced. In a setting full of stimuli, balancing the curiosity to learn and explore with one’s physical and mental needs becomes essential.

This guide presents ten pavilions we had the pleasure of producing for the 2025 edition of the Biennale, located in the Arsenale exhibition space. After visiting the entire Arsenale area ourselves, we offer a curated journey through different languages, atmospheres, and stories, designed to support a more mindful visit. A perspective—and path—that puts people, their perceptions, and their needs first. We hope it helps you shape a balanced itinerary.

Pavilion of Kosovo – Smelling the Future

The visit to the Pavilion of Kosovo begins with the body. Here, it’s not just about seeing: you walk, breathe, smell. Scent becomes the guiding sense, leading visitors through a suspended installation made up of pipes releasing aromas that evoke seasons, soils, and presences.

In an age where natural cycles grow ever more unpredictable and data alone is no longer enough, this project offers an alternative archive: a sensory database of scents, tactile sensations, and silences.

Visitors are invited to slow down, tune in to the environment, and read the landscape through the senses.

Pavilion of Morocco – Touching Time

Another project that stimulates the senses is the Pavilion of Morocco. Here, tradition and innovation meet in a virtuous dialogue: the project explores how ancient construction techniques can intertwine with contemporary digital technologies, redefining the concept of collective intelligence in the architectural process.

The pavilion is designed as a personal journey. Visitors are guided by the layout to create their own path, weaving among numerous columns that define narrow passageways—a maze of surfaces to brush against, textures to explore, and digital projections that animate ancestral gestures, tools, and rituals.

Adding to the narrative are holograms giving voice and presence to two Moroccan artisans—the silent protagonists of a rich shared technical and cultural heritage.

Pavilion of Mexico – Scents, Fragrances, and Connections

Once again, the body takes the lead in the Pavilion of Mexico. Visitors are welcomed into a landscape meant to be crossed slowly: you walk along the edges of cultivated islets—chinampas—immersed in a living yet enclosed environment.

The project speaks of natural cycles, biodiversity, and resilience, but above all, it offers the chance to slow down, opening space for deeper and more attentive perception.
It feels like entering a secluded garden, where time stretches and the senses awaken: the air is dense, the greenery enveloping, and the humidity and plant aromas stimulate the nose.

Surrounding the installation, rest areas and shaded spots provide opportunities to pause, breathe, and regenerate—turning the visit into a moment of genuine connection with the environment.

Pavilion of Oman – Welcoming Spaces

The Pavilion of Oman offers a free, boundless visiting experience: no doors, no fixed paths. The space opens in every direction, leaving visitors completely free to enter, pause, or move as they wish.

At its centre is an installation accessible from all sides, surrounded by benches that encourage rest and sharing.
Crafted from perforated aluminium inspired by traditional Omani patterns, the project merges cultural heritage with contemporary design, transforming the space into a civic site where taking a break becomes an essential part of the experience.

The inspiration comes from the sablat—traditional Omani reception spaces within homes dedicated to hospitality and gatherings—offering an experience that celebrates sociability and human connection.

Pavilion of China – Coexisting Through the Senses

The Pavilion of China welcomes visitors with a spacious layout designed to encourage free exploration. Its open arrangement invites guests to create their own path through a sequence of installations that alternate between visual and auditory stimuli.

Entry is marked by a shimmering, evocative structure introducing the theme of cultural coexistence.

As you move through immersive environments and enveloping sounds, the visit becomes a sensory experience, enriched by installations that communicate in diverse languages.

Pavilion of Uzbekistan – Traces of Memory

Freedom of movement defines the Pavilion of Uzbekistan: no set routes, no fixed starting point. Visitors are invited to explore as they wish.
Most of the works are visible from all angles, allowing personal curiosity and spontaneous interaction to lead the way.

The exhibition features original fragments from the structure, reinterpreted architectural elements, and purpose-built objects, which gain new meaning through the installation and atmosphere.
The project pays tribute to the Sun Institute of Material Science—one of the world’s largest solar furnaces—built in 1987 for military and scientific purposes.

Through the lens of art and architecture, this symbol is reimagined as a message of sustainability and culture, inviting visitors to reflect on the traces of the past and possible futures.

Pavilion of Turkey and Pavilion of Philippines – Listening to the Earth

If you're seeking a place to slow down and enter a space of deep listening, the Pavilion of Turkey welcomes you with an intimate and enveloping atmosphere.
At its centre, a large installation invites stillness, while listening stations offer moments of silence and contemplation, far removed from the external hustle.

In this edition, Turkey presents a multifaceted experience that explores the earth through sensory, scientific, and artistic languages—encouraging visitors to rediscover, reinterpret, and imagine this vital element from multiple perspectives.

The Pavilion of Philippines also invites attentive listening and deep understanding through reading the soil.
Here, the ground is seen as a living, potent force capable of reshaping architectural aspirations and solutions. Listening points and captions guide the visitor through a sensory experience that awakens awareness of the deep ties between land, culture, and architecture.

Pavilion of Chile – Silence in the Dark

Arriving at the Pavilion of Chile, especially after walking outdoors in the sun and crowds, you’re met with a completely different atmosphere.

You enter a space wrapped in total darkness, inviting the eyes to rest and recalibrate. A soft green light subtly guides the way without ever overwhelming.
The project centres around the round table as a symbol of dialogue and political discussion—vital in Chile’s environmental participatory processes.

Through light and spatial arrangement, the installation explores tensions between technology and territory, state and community, and artificial intelligence and the human bodies that sustain it—encouraging careful, conscious listening.

Pavilion of Saudi Arabia – Light and Calm

Following a series of dimly lit, atmospheric pavilions, the Pavilion of Saudi Arabia opens with a bright, softly lit environment that gently reawakens the eyes.
Here, diffuse and pleasant light encourages a slower pace and invites visitors to surrender to a calming experience.

Inside, a maze of enveloping corridors is created by fabric-covered walls; surfaces adorned with embroidered details draw the eye and encourage deep observation. Every element becomes an invitation to explore, turning the visit into a rich visual journey.

The pavilion offers a profound reflection on humanity’s impact on the spaces we inhabit and the evolution of cities, inviting visitors to imagine a future where architecture and nature blend in harmony.
It proposes an open and inclusive dialogue—beyond borders and cultures—mapping out new paths toward a sustainable and shared urban ecosystem.

To enhance your visit: here some practical tips for your visit:

~ Outdoor exhibition spaces: Be prepared for both sunny and rainy days, as some parts of the Biennale are open-air.

~ Extended walking: Visiting all the exhibition areas can take several hours. Seating may be limited in some zones, so expect to be on your feet for long periods.

~ Comfort is key: Some paths are gravelled and may not suit all footwear. Avoid uncomfortable shoes that could affect your visit.

~ Charging points: Since there are no designated charging areas, we recommend bringing a power bank so you can enjoy the visit and take all the photos you like.

~ Beyond Giardini and Arsenale: Many national pavilions and collateral events are hosted in stunning historic buildings outside the main areas. Take time to explore them and discover the city’s history.

~ Access to Venice: Booking and payment of the Access Contribution are required to enter the historic centre, with some exemptions. Check the official website for up-to-date information.
